An attempted murder probe has been launched following a 'deliberate' flat fire in South Ayrshire.
The alarm was raised around 4.30am on Saturday, September 10 when police were called to reports of a blaze at a top floor flat on Russell Drive in the town of Ayr.
Officers say early enquiries suggest the fire had been started deliberately. It is understood no one was harmed in the incident but, due to the circumstances, cops believe it was a targeted attack.
