An attempted murder investigation has been launched after a man was seriously injured during an attack in North Lanarkshire.
The 28-year-old victim was attacked in the Westdale Drive area of Moodiesburn at around 9.45pm on Sunday, May 15.
He was rushed by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he remains in a ‘stable condition’ despite being badly injured.
Investigators believe a black Nissan Qashqai car may have been in the area around the time of the incident and are keen to find the driver.
Detective Constable Shemain Murphy, of Coatbridge CID, said: "A man has been left with serious injuries and it is vital we trace whoever is responsible.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident, or noticed anything at all suspicious, to come forward.
"In particular, we would like to speak to anyone who saw a black Nissan Qashqai car in the area around the time.
"I would also urge any motorists with dash-cams to please check their footage in case they have captured anything of significance, or anyone with CCTV that has not been spoken to by police yet.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3890 of Sunday, 15 May, 2022.
"Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
