Attacking change and Dejan Kulusevski dilemma - The Tottenham team Conte should pick vs Brighton

Tottenham and Brighton & Hove Albion will finally meet at the Amex Stadium on Wednesday evening following the postponement of the original game between the sides. Due to take place on the south coast in December, the match was called off following a Covid outbreak at Spurs.

Following their slender 3-2 loss against Manchester United last time out, Antonio Conte's men need to get back to winning ways if they are to keep their top-four hopes alive. Brighton themselves also need the points after five successive Premier League defeats.

The Lilywhites haven't fared well at the Amex in recent seasons, notably crashing to a 3-0 defeat against the Seagulls towards the end of Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham tenure. Even last season the team fell to a dismal 1-0 loss that all at Spurs would rather forget about.

So how exactly should Tottenham line up against Graham Potter's men? We got our three Spurs reporters Alasdair Gold, Rob Guest and Emma de Duve to pick the XI they would select.

The main question for Antonio Conte is whether he feels that fresh legs are required in the middle of three games in eight days, ending with a big derby against West Ham on Sunday. The changes he could make come across the pitch.

A switch in the back three would likely see Davinson Sanchez chosen over the often overlooked Joe Rodon to come in for one of the main trio Conte has been using. Harry Winks is the only fresh option in midfield while Emerson Royal may be hoping to get a chance at right wing-back, if the head coach decides that Matt Doherty needs a rest.

Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn will also be trying to show in training that they deserve a chance in one of the attacking slots. The problem for all of those players above is that Conte was happy with much of the performance at Old Trafford and if they are all ready to start again then he could name an unchanged starting XI.

Gold's team: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Reguilon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

Despite Saturday's disappointing loss at Old Trafford as Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Manchester United to victory, Antonio Conte doesn't have many decisions to make in terms of his Tottenham team to play Brighton. The XI really picks itself at the minute as the head coach seems to know his best side.

The back three remain the same, with Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon carrying on in the wing-back positions once again. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who performed well against the Red Devils, and Rodrigo Bentancur remain the midfield two rather than bringing Harry Winks in for his chance.

In attack, it may be the time to give Son Heung-min a breather as he has been poor in recent weeks and way off his best. A rest may do him the world of good ahead of West Ham and Conte has the option of bringing him on in the final stages if Spurs need to find a goal from somewhere.

Lucas Moura should come into the side as a result, with Conte then having a decision to make over whether Dejan Kulusevski switches over to the left flank or the Brazilian operates there as both favour playing from the right.

Guest's team: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Reguilon; Lucas, Kane, Kulusevski.

Some potentially difficult decisions for Antonio Conte to make when his Tottenham side travel to Brighton, after the 3-2 defeat to Man United on Saturday. Aside from the injury issues, the Italian could make a couple of rotations, especially in the front line, but he has to decide whether his other options have impressed enough to replace a player in the regular XI.

The likes of Lucas Moura may feel they deserve some more game time and with Son Heung-min seeing a drop in form in recent games, could Conte make the switch? It may not seem likely but a rotation could seem sensible after the defeat and another game at the weekend.

Spurs need to bounce back from Saturday's result and get three points from a Brighton side who come into the game on the back of a 2-0 loss to Liverpool. However, aside from the injured Ryan Sessegnon, Conte may hope that the side who played so well against Everton can come out. put the trip to Old Trafford aside and do the same against Brighton.

de Duve's team: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Reguilon; Kulusevski, Son; Kane.
