ATF And Madison Police Collaborate To Trace School Shooter's Gun

Parents of Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley taken into custody, in Detroit

The US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is currently working in conjunction with the Madison Police Department to determine how the shooter at Abundant Life Christian School obtained a handgun. During an evening news conference, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes expressed that detectives are currently unaware of the origin of the firearm, emphasizing that this is a crucial aspect of the ongoing investigative process.

Chief Barnes highlighted the valuable partnership with the ATF, which possesses a trace program designed to track the origins of firearms, and the FBI, whom he described as 'amazing' collaborators in this effort. The collaboration between law enforcement agencies is aimed at uncovering critical information that will shed light on the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident at the school.
