At least 40 people lost their lives in a tragic incident at the UNRWA school in Nuseirat, as confirmed by medical workers at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital. This number was later revised down from an initial count of 45, as it was clarified that there were two separate incidents in Nuseirat - one at the school and another at a residential house where five individuals were killed.
The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital, the primary medical facility still operational in the region, reported that a total of 52 individuals who were victims of Israeli strikes were brought to the hospital on Thursday.
Israel has acknowledged its responsibility for the strike, stating that the target was '20 to 30 Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants' present at the location.
In a recent update, the IDF disclosed that its troops are actively engaged in operational activities in the eastern Bureij and eastern Deir al Balah areas. The IDF reported that its troops have discovered underground terror tunnel shafts and additional weapons during these operations.
