At 95, freedom fighter and social reformer Manorama continues her service to society

VISAKHAPATNAM: Continuing her social service even at the age of 95, Ravuri Manorama has proved that age indeed is just a number. Born to renowned atheist and freedom fighter Goparaju Ramachandra Rao, a.k.a, Gora, who walked alongside Mahatma Gandhi in the pursuit of India's liberation, Manorama participated in the Quit India movement.

She served nine months of imprisonment at the Allipur camp jail in Bellary. Manorama's contributions extend beyond the battlefield of the freedom struggle. Though a nonagenarian, the veteran social reformer, atheist, and an active member of the Krishna district senior citizens association is still continuing to champion the cause of the elderly and participates fervently in awareness meetings.
