Aston Villa are ready to step up their pursuit of Rangers star man Calvin Bassey, according to reports.
The Light Blues defender has had a phenomenal season and capped it off with excellent displays in both the Europa League and Scottish Cup Finals.
Frankfurt edged Rangers out in Seville last midweek with a 5-4 penalties win after Aaron Ramsey was denied by Kevin Trapp from the spot.

They picked up silverware just a few days later with Bassey impressing again in the extra-time win over Hearts thanks to Ryan Jack and Scott Wright's strikes at Hampden.
Bassey is under contract at Ibrox under 2024 but former boss Steven Gerrard is ready to test the resolve of the Ibrox club,
Aston Villa are looking to get business done early having already snapped up Boubacar Kamara and Philippe Coutinho on long-term contracts.
Now the Times say Bassey is next on the wish list for the English Premier League outfit.
Gerrard snapped him up from Leicester City while in charge at Rangers and is a big admirer of the versatile defender.
Rangers netted a club record fee for Nathan Patterson in January from Everton and they would be looking for that number to be bettered before they even considered selling.
Ex-Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas earlier this week put a £25million price tag on the Nigeria international.
He said: "I can see Rangers getting £25 million if they sell Calvin Bassey to fund their summer rebuild.
"You can see why Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa are so keen to get him but there will be a string of top clubs looking at him.
"I think the minimum value would be in the £25 million bracket.
"The reason why I put him in that range is because he is already a better player than Tyrone Mings.
"He was one that was built up and has ended up becoming an England international, but I look at Bassey and I think there is more."
