Aston Martin reveals 2026 F1 car launch date

Aston Martin’s 2026 Formula 1 car will be unveiled on 9 February, the team has announced in a succinct social media post.

Aston Martin simply published “AMR26 arrives”, confirming its upcoming challenger’s name in keeping with its nomenclature, followed by the date of the launch.

The Silverstone-based outfit is the first to announce the date for its 2026 F1 car reveal – Red Bull and Racing Bulls are having a season launch in the United States on 15 January but will only unveil their new liveries.

Aston Martin’s launch is just two days before Bahrain pre-season testing takes place from 11-13 and 18-20 February, but its car will previously take to the track at Barcelona for the collective test on 26-30 January. It will again be driven by veteran Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

2026 will be a key season for the team amid F1’s new technical regulations. Ambitious owner Lawrence Stroll’s patience might be wearing thin after the squad slumped from fifth to a likely seventh in the 2025 constructors’ standings despite the billionaire’s mammoth financial investment into its facilities and personnel.

Heads aren’t (quite) rolling yet, but legendary engineer Adrian Newey will take the helm of the team for 2026, becoming its third team principal in just a year after Mike Krack and Andy Cowell successively made way – and expectations are higher than ever.
