Assisi charity facing dog rehoming crisis warns public about scammers claiming to care

An animal charity forced to close its doors to dogs after a noise complaint has been hit by criminal scammers claiming they care.

Assisi in Conlig, Co Down, sent out an urgent SOS to supporters to help them find foster carers for 12 dogs seeking homes after the council ordered them to take action on barking.

Almost 10,000 people have so far signed a petition calling for dogs to be allowed to stay at the sanctuary - but others have not been so scrupulous.
