GUWAHATI: Assam Rifles troops on high alert thwarted an attempt by proscribed faction NSCN (K-YA) to disrupt peace in Nyasa of Mon district in Nagaland in the wee hours on Monday. Two jawans sustained injuries in the gunfight.
In general area Nyasa situated at the interstate boundary between Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, based on credible intelligence of movement of Nscn (K-YA) cadres, troops of Assam Rifles laid multiple such ambushes to dominate the area, Kohima based defence PRO Lt Col Sumit K Sharma said.
