It can be so tricky finding an appropriate dress for a wedding, especially as we slowly but surely reach autumn.
I was after a dress in a classic autumnal colour, but still wanted it to have bold bright summery vibes. After browsing on several different clothes websites and having a few meltdowns, I decided to visit ASOS, a clothing retailer I know is usually spot on for me in terms of size and comfort.
Although ASOS can be expensive at times, unlike fast fashion brands such as Boohoo and PrettyLittleThing, I knew that if I purchased a dress from there it would be high quality. After narrowing my search down to a few colours such as burgundy, purple, brown and orange, I finally found the dress.

The ASOS DESIGN one shoulder wrap tuck pencil dress in 'orange flame' is priced at £62 is described as 'the kind of dress that deserves attention' on the ASOS website - and I most definitely agree with that. The dress features a one-shoulder design and a wrap skirt with zip-back fastening.
What really attracted me to this dress was the one-shoulder style and wrap skirt detail. I've spent many years feeling self conscious in tighter 'bodycon' dresses at weddings, and this wrap detail offers the best of both worlds.
The dress still complimented by size 12 frame but it wasn't too tight, and it hid all the lumps and bumps I wanted to hide which is always a bonus! I really liked the midi length with the slight slit in the leg which offered a bit of extra glam to an already amazing outfit.
I've never actually worn a one-shoulder style dress before but I really liked it. It was something a little different for me and was definitely a focal point of the dress.
Although orange is a lovely autumnal colour, some shades can look a little dull, but this 'orange flame' shade was just phenomenal. It was so bright and bold and a great transitional colour for that awkward 'in-between' stage of summer and autumn. To make things even better, the sun was shining on the day of my friend's wedding, which made this dress even brighter.
I was amazed at the sheer quality of this dress too. We all know that feeling of trying on a dress that we've ordered online and feeling disappointed with the thin flimsy material - but that wasn't the case with this ASOS dress.
It was lovely and thick, and felt almost silky on the inside which made it feel really comfortable. I had no problems wearing this dress all day and night and was able to dance quite happily - even after a few wines! Shoppers can purchase the ASOS dress here for £62. Browse other ASOS dresses here.
