Aslan frontman Christy Dignam has revealed how happy he is to be finally home with his family after spending months in hospital.
The 61-year-old and his bandmates had to postpone their 3Arena concert last month after Christy suffered health setbacks with his cancer treatment.
The singer suffers from a rare blood cancer called amyloidosis and has to get chemotherapy in his battle against the disease.

Christy spent the summer in hospital as doctors raced to try and figure out a form of treatment that would work for him, but faced further setbacks just before the band’s massive gig.
But he is finally feeling a lot better and doctors gave him the go-ahead to return home earlier this week.
Speaking exclusively to the Sunday Mirror, Christy said: “I am home now and taking it easy. Everyone’s support and well wishes have been and always will be invaluable to me.
“I would just like to thank everyone who has sent me nice messages and support during my recent stay in hospital, it meant so much.
“I can’t wait to get back on the stage and do what I love most. It will be the gig of a lifetime.”
Meanwhile the rest of the band, Alan, Joe and Billy said: “We are so happy Christy is finally home. It’s a long time since he has been home and able to be with Kathryn, Kiera, Darren and his grandkids.
“Everyone’s support to Christy and the rest of us has been amazing, there are no words to thank everyone enough.”
Last month, fellow band members took to social media to post a video message announcing the postponement of the highly anticipated 3Arena gig.
They also reassured fans that the gig would go ahead at a later date and their number one priority is Christy’s health.
“We have some devastating news. Unfortunately we won’t be able to make it to the 3Arena this Saturday,” band member Billy McGuinness said.
They apologised to fans who have booked hotel accommodation and flights to attend the concert and said they hope “someday we will be okay to do the show in the future”.
Christy, from Finglas in Dublin, has spoken out in the past about how his condition has affected his life, saying: “It can turn on a sixpence.
“I know I could be gigging on a Saturday night and in hospital on the Monday,” he previously said.
