Aslan frontman Christy Dignam thanks fans from his hospital bed during this 'difficult time' - and vows he will be out of hospital soon

Aslan frontman Christy Dignam has spoken from his hospital bed thanking fans for their good wishes during a “difficult time for me and my family”.

The popular Dubliner - who has been battling a rare blood disorder called amyloidosis since 2013 - worried fans after he was hospitalised two weeks ago, forcing the band to postpone their 3Arena gig.

Now 62-year-old Christy has spoken to us from his hospital bed to thank everyone for their messages of support – and says he will “be back home soon”.
