HANGZHOU: The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) dropped three athletes from its original squad after they failed to clear a last-minute fitness test held at the national camp two days before the contingent's departure on Monday.
"It was a sad end to the dreams of the campers including Tamil Nadu's Arokia Rajiv who helped India win the gold in 4x400m mixed relay and silver in men's 4x400m relay at the last Asian Games in Jakarta. The other two who failed to make the trip were Rahul Baby and Arul R," sources said.
