Asian Champions Trophy Hockey: India beat South Korea for fourth consecutive win

A brace by captain Harmanpreet Singh and a goal by promising striker Araijeet Singh Hundal gave India a 3-1 win over South Korea, which keeps the defending champions unbeaten, having registered wins in all four league matches so far in the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament..

The defending champions have already confirmed themselves a spot in the semifinals and will conclude their league engagement with the match against archrivals Pakistan on Saturday.

India had beaten China (3-1), Japan (5-1) and Malaysia (8-1) before the win over the Koreans on Thursday.

The Koreans gave India their first real test of the tournament and kept the four-time champions goal-less in the second quarter of the match.

Hundal opened India's scoring in the 6th min, which was doubled by Harmanpreet from a penalty corner in the ninth minute.

After goalless fifteen minutes before half-time, the Koreans cut India's lead off a penalty-corner conversion by Jihun Yang. But Harmanpreet restored India's two-goal lead with his second strike.

India are eyeing a record-extending fifth ACT title.
