Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka is marking his birthday in police custody on Wednesday, October 14, as party leaders allege that he has been detained without access to his lawyers following an incident at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. CJP supporters gathered outside a police station to celebrate his birthday, while party founder Abhijeet Dipke also extended his wishes to Ranka on social media.
Dipke posted on X late Tuesday night, noting that it was Ranka’s birthday and alleging that he had been in detention since morning and had not been allowed to meet his lawyers.
