The major UK supermarkets have changed the way motorists pay for their fuel.
Before, all Pay at Pump transactions allowed authorisation by requesting a £1 transaction from your bank before taking the full fuel payment within the next three days.
However, new rules imposed by Visa and MasterCard last year mean this authorisation transaction has increased to £99, meaning your bank can create a temporary hold of up to £99 while you fill-up.
