Asda shoppers 'won't order takeaway anymore' after learning of 40p pizza trick

Asda has loosened the pinch in many shoppers pockets with a new 40 pence pizza hack in store.

Many people will be breaking their New Year's resolutions already and succumbing to the temptation of a takeaway, reports Manchester Evening News. However, the eye-watering prices of most places may be enough to put you off the idea.

With Domino's pizza costing between £14.99 to £22.99, and Papa John's starting at £16.99, pizza lovers don't have many cheap options for a good takeaway scran. But now, they will be ecstatic to know that there is in fact a cheaper alternative.

People have been left flabbergasted by Asda's latest hack, all centred around their creative pizza section. For just 40p, customers can get their custom made pizza cooked at their local ASDA pizza counter to take away in just under two minutes.

And the original prices of the pizzas are a fraction of the cost of many takeaways, starting from just £3.50. The popular supermarket chain shared the hack to their TikTok account, in a video that has garnered over 1.1 million views.

In the TikTok, Asda show off their pizza section in store, where they cook the fresh pies in a large pizza oven and box them up for customers for as little as 40p.

A worker is shown washing their hands, making the pizza from scratch and sliding it into the oven in under ten seconds. The pie comes out steaming hot, and oozing with cheese and toppings.

Asda has told shoppers to come try out their fresh pizzas with a variety of toppings, which some customers hail as better than Domino's.

Viewers reacting to the video - that has gotten over 40,000 likes - have stated that the Asda pizzas are an "under-appreciated gem".

One viewer wrote: "Best news I've heard all year!"

Another commented: "ASDA pizzas are genuinely really good and affordable, finally [you] can have it cooked in-store.”

A third wrote: "ASDA, get some mopeds/delivery drivers and do home delivery and you would blow Domino's out the water! One of the best pizzas out there!”
