It's not hard to admit that we're a nation of pizza lovers, but as with everything in January, they're not the most cost-effective takeaway when it comes to choice for having a treat.
In fact, buying a pizza can really hit you in the pocket. With some of the largest chains on the market setting you back almost £20 just for one pizza for your family. A small Domino's pizza ranges from £14.99 all the way up to £17.99 and then a Papa John's medium could cost you from £16.99 upwards.
However, don't be disheartened if you're looking for an easy way to save money on pizza - without compromising on taste As Asda shoppers have shared a genius in store trick that costs them just 40p and is so good that they have vowed never to return to their favourite takeaways, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Customers have been blown away after realising that you can get their custom made fresh pizza cooked for you at your local Asda pizza counter for just £40p. The freshly made pizzas themselves cost a fraction of the amount that a takeaway does as prices range from as little as £3.50.
The supermarket giant shared the "ultimate hack" on its TikTok channel and the video has now gained over 1.1 million views on the social media channel. Customers are being urged to try out their fresh pizzas which some have even hailed as better than Domino's.
The video has even had over 40k likes with some customers who have tried the pizzas badging them as an "underappreciated gem". One added it was the "best news I've heard all year" while another said "Asda pizzas are genuinely really good and affordable, finally you can have it cooked in store."
Another said: “Asda, get some mopeds/delivery drivers and do home delivery and you would blow Domino's out the water! One of the best pizzas out there!”
