Supermarket giant ASDA has blown shoppers away with a 72p air fryer snack that only takes a matter of minutes to prepare. The snack is part of the Just Essentials range, but that has no bearing on its taste, as shoppers are going wild for the 'delicious' taste.
ASDA's potato pops are similar to American Tater Tots, which are hugely popular in restaurants at the moment. However, a bag costs just 72p, making it a brilliant and cheap alternative.
ASDA's potato pops have already gone viral on Tik Tok, and shoppers have been clearing out freezer shelves due to the popularity. Now ASDA has come up with a recipe to transform them into a 'sensational' fakeaway.

Uploading a video on Tik Tok, ASDA wrote: "TikTok trending Air Fryer Salt and Pepper Potato Pops.” They added: "We’re not drooling, you’re drooling. The ultimate fakeaway right here. Are you going to be making these?"
The voiceover in the video then goes on to explain how to make the viral snack by giving step-by-step instructions. It says: "Have you seen these Asda potato pops all over TikTok? Well, if you want to do them too, here’s a great way to fakeaway.
"First off, put the Essentials potato pops in the Air Fryer for about 8 minutes. Next up, dice pepper, chillies, an onion and, lastly, some garlic. Then heat up some sesame seed oil in a pan and add the veg."
The narrator continues: "Next up, we’re making the salt and pepper mix. Some salt, chinese 5 spice, some grounded chilli flakes, garlic granules, ground ginger and lastly some ground white pepper. Add that into your pan with some soy sauce and give it a good mix through. Then, when your potato pops are nice and crispy, make sure they’re nice and covered."
The final step is adding ASDA's 'secret ingredient' - own brand chip shop curry sauce mix, which costs £1 for 160g. ASDA explains: "Just add water and stir it up." Pour it over your potato pops and Bob's your uncle.
"So there we go, super easy salt and pepper potato pops. Just look at that steamy, crispy goodness,” concludes the video. The video has already seen an overwhelming response from ASDA shoppers, who are keen to try it for themselves.
One person replied: "Drooling over this. Making it at the weekend." Another said: "yum." A third ASDA fan gushed: "Mate."
