Asda praised after changing name of 'feminine hygiene' aisle in all stores

The 'feminine hygiene' aisle is seen in every supermarket but in recent years, there has been discussion over the term and its connotations when in relation to menstruation products.

Many believe that applying 'feminine hygiene' to things such as tampons and sanitary towels, adds to the idea that periods are in someway dirty, shameful and unhygienic.

The term is also considered outdated as it is gendered and therefore harmful to those who don't identify as women but still need to use period products.
