It has been one of the hottest festive tickets in town in the past and Newcastle's famous Holly Ball is making its comeback for 2022, as As You Like It go all out to make kit a Boxing Day to remember.
Like many events in 2020, the Holly Ball fell victim to Covid, as the nation was plunged into a tier system which massively limited social contact and hospitality venues were prohibited from serving indoors again. And then, there was an end of an era as As You Like It had a name change to become Zarabanda Bing Bing, so there was no Holly Ball last year either.
However, after Geordie revellers delighted at As You Like It being restored to its original identity last month, the team at the venue on the outskirts of Jesmond, are bringing the Holly Ball back to round out the year in style and hopefully raise lots of money for the Sunshine Fund in the process.

The dress code on Monday, December 26 will be black tie and cocktail dresses as the most glamourous event in the festive calendar returns to the newly re-opening Jesmond Venue.
Ticket holders are invited to enjoy a spectacle of entertainment with a sprinkling of festive cheer hosted by live band Stereo Typical, with showgirls and casino tables rounding off Christmas celebrations in style. Gearing up for the event, Rachelle Jacques, Business Development Manager for Apartment Group said: "‘The Holly Ball was a Boxing Day tradition at As You Like It for many years and we thought it was only right to bring it back this year.
"We are delighted to support this fantastic local charity knowing how the money goes directly to children right here in the North East with additional needs. I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside the Sunshine Fund for many years now and have seen first hand how it really changes the lives of families."
