Daniele De Rossi made a successful debut as the successor to Jose Mourinho at AS Roma on Saturday, as his childhood team secured a 2-1 victory over struggling Verona at the emotionally charged Stadio Olimpico.

Roma, currently sitting in eighth place in Serie A, managed to edge past Verona with first-half goals from Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Pellegrini. This narrow win marked a promising start for De Rossi, who took over the managerial reins just days ago following Mourinho's abrupt departure.
