France will station troops, radar equipment and air-defense batteries around Saudi Arabia's Yanbu oil complex, President Emmanuel Macron confirmed Thursday, in one of the most direct European military commitments to the kingdom's energy infrastructure since fighting in the region intensified. Speaking in a prime-time interview on TF1 and France 2, Macron said Paris had finalized the arrangement with Riyadh and cast the mission as purely protective.
