Aryan Khan drug case: NCB sources deny reports claiming Aryan’s involvement in conspiracy was false - Exclusive!

A new development in the Aryan Khan case has revealed that key findings in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report suggest no evidence of Aryan Khan being a part of a conspiracy and that since no drugs were found in his possession, his phone should not have been taken from him. ETimes reached out to a source close to the Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) Mumbai unit to record a reaction to these reports.

The source offered a counter argument to the reports and said, “Previously, two courts have rejected bail in these cases so we cannot say the action taken by the NCB was wrong as the matter is subjudice.”

The source also pointed out to the purpose of the SIT and said, “The SIT that was formed had the task to look into the corruption angle and not the merits of the case. That’s for the courts to decide.”

A lot has been speculated about the NCB Zonal Director's authority and the source revealed, “It’s important to point out here, that the zonal director of the NCB is not the authority to decide the arrest.”

One of the key findings in the SIT report was the fact that NCB officials did not conduct the raid with supporting video footage. To this, the source replied, “There is no SOP for video recording of raids.”

Finally, the source said that NCB officers have been targeted on unfair grounds and added, “With regards to this case, a lot of allegations made against NCB officers were made by politicians and persons with vendetta and malice. This has been upheld by the Hon Bombay HC on multiple occasions. The Mumbai police SIT had already put up a closure report on the said fake allegations, as well.”
