Arthur Melo drops Liverpool selection hint with 11-word Instagram message

Arthur Melo has dropped a subtle hint that he won’t be starting for Liverpool against Southampton this afternoon.

A transfer deadline day loan signing last summer, the Brazilian was last in the matchday squad for the 3-0 win away at Leicester City earlier this month, but a 13-minute substitute appearance against Napoli back in September remains his only appearance in a Liverpool shirt.

This afternoon’s trip to Southampton is the final opportunity for Melo to make his Premier League debut ahead of returning to Juventus at the end of the season. However, taking to Instagram on Sunday afternoon, the midfielder appeared to suggest he won’t be starting.
