Art fans baffled as 150-year-old painting shows 'time traveller holding iPhone'

Eagle-eyed art fans have been left shocked after spotting what appears to be a 'time traveller' holding an iPhone in a 150-year-old painting. The piece, titled 'The Expected One', depicts a young girl walking down a country road with her eyes fixed on a small square object in her hands.

Painted in 1860 by artist Ferdinand George Waldmüller, the picture was created more than a century before invention of mobile phones. Despite this, some viewers are convinced that the girl is staring intently at an iPhone, according to the Mirror.

With her gaze fixed downwards towards the object, she unknowingly makes her way towards a boy holding out a pink flower, ready to woo her. However, art critics insist that the item in the girl's hand has nothing to do with modern day technology.
