AN art exhibition raising funds for Palestine is set to open in Glasgow this weekend.
The "Sanastamir" exhibition, translating to "we will persevere" in Arabic, will take place at Glasgow Central Mosque from Friday until Sunday.
The three-day exhibition and art sale will feature a wide range of original artwork and handcrafted pieces created by local artists, with proceeds going towards humanitarian relief organisations in Gaza.
Among the items which will be for sale include paintings, jewellery, ceramics, tapestries and greeting cards.
Organisers Glasgow Artists for Palestine hope that the exhibition will "inspire compassion, solidarity and hope, demonstrating how creativity can help communities respond to humanitarian crises".
Sadia Sikandar, one of the exhibition's organisers, told The National that the event is about "using the power of creativity to save lives".
She said: "Every artwork purchased and every donation made will help provide vital humanitarian support to people in Gaza, who continue to face unimaginable hardship.
"I personally know two families living here in Scotland whose loved ones are trapped in Gaza.
"These are not distant stories, they are the daily reality for families in our own communities."
Each individual artist is choosing where the funds raised from their items will go to, with some donating money to organisations and others to individual families affected in Gaza.
Artist Jonathan Christie is fundraising directly for artists in Gaza, while Amanda Adler is raising funds to support residents in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, as they work to restore essential services and rebuild their community.
The Sanastamir exhibition will take place at 1 Mosque Avenue, G5 9TA from 2pm until 5pm on Friday, and from 11am until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
