Arsenal XI vs Bayer Leverkusen: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and injury latest for Champions League

Crunch clash: Bukayo Saka will hope to play a key role for Arsenal against Bayer Leverkusen - (London Standard)

Viktor Gyokeres could come back into the Arsenal side for their Champions League last-16 clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

The striker dropped to the bench for the win over Everton on Saturday as Kai Havertz led the line, but Mikel Arteta might shuffle his pack for the second-leg fixture.

Arsenal remain keen to carefully manage Havertz's fitness and with the Carabao Cup final to come on Sunday, Gyokeres could get the nod against Leverkusen.

Jurrien Timber has been ruled out of Tuesday night's match, leaving Arteta with a decision between Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White.

Mosquera was preferred off the bench against Everton and if he starts, Riccardo Calafiori would provide a more attacking full-back option on the opposite flank.

Martin Odegaard also remains unavailable, leaving Eberechi Eze in line to keep his place at No10.

Arsenal are set to be boosted by the return of Leandro Trossard, who has missed the last two matches with a minor injury.

Trossard took part in training on Monday and is expected to return to the squad and potentially go straight back into the starting lineup.

Arteta must also decide how to use Max Dowman after his heroics to drag Arsenal to victory against Everton.

The 16-year-old is likely to be on the bench and could find himself with a key role to play again if Arsenal are in need of a late goal. Mikel Merino remains sidelined after foot surgery.

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-2-3-1): Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Eze, Trossard; Gyokeres

Injured: Merino, Odegaard, Timber
