Vivianne Miedema has become Arsenal's latest injury nightmare after she was stretchered off during a 1-0 defeat to Lyon in the UEFA Women's Champions League tie at the Emirates.
Despite the defeat and serious injury blow, the result does mean Arsenal can't finish any lower than second in Group C and have qualified for the last eight of the competition. The defending champions' claimed all three points thanks to an own goal from Frida Maanum right on the stroke of half-time.
Arsenal were the better side for long periods of the tie, but chances remained at a premium. However, they will have the chance to end 2022 on a winning note when they face Zurich next week in their final group game.
Here are the player ratings.
Player Ratings
Manuela Zinsberger - Zinsberger looks back to her best after a shaky November. Claimed some tricky Lyon crosses into the box in the first 45. Her save from Le Sommer kept Arsenal in the game. 6
Laura Wienroither - An outstanding display on her return to the team. Gave energy and industry down the right wing and arguably looked like Arsenal's best attacking outlet for long periods. 8
Leah Williamson - As solid as ever on the ball, allowing Arsenal to play through the Lyon press. Had to move into midfield after Miedema went off, but did so with ease. 6
Lotte Wubben-Moy - At times moved the ball too slowly when Arsenal were trying to build from the back. Did help the defence contain Malard quiet. 6
Steph Catley - Had an engrossing battle with Delphine Cascarino throughout the 90 minutes. The Gunners' full-back definitely shaded the battle in the opening 45, after the break it was 50-50. 7
Lia Walti - Constantly tidying things up in front of the back four, winning back possession. A player bang in form at the moment. 8
Frida Maanum - Was unlucky to score the own goal but even before then hadn't been able to impose her normal game. Gave the ball away cheaply on too many occasions. 5
Vivianne Miedema - Had looked dangerous until suffering what looked to be a very serious injury. Horrible to see and far too common a sight, particularly for Arsenal, this season. 6
Katie McCabe - After getting her goal against Villa the Irish international gave another energetic display down the right wing. Often just let down by the final pass. 6
Caitlin Foord - Not her best game in terms of end product. But Foord never stopped wanting the ball at made some intelligent runs in behind the Lyon defence during the second half. 7
Stina Blackstenius - Seems to be saving her best performances for Europe at the moment, although this was a difficult night. Starved of any real service and never looked like scoring. 6
Subs: Rafaelle Souza - 7, Lina Hurtig - 6
