Arsenal vs Man City: FA confirm no action to be taken following heated post-match bust-up

Arsenal and Manchester City have escaped any punishment from the Football Association (FA) following a heated argument between players and staff after Sunday’s showdown at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners won the game 1-0 thanks to a late Gabriel Martinelli goal to move ahead of Manchester City and level on points with Premier League leaders Tottenham.

After the match, Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover was at the centre of a heated exchange with City defender Kyle Walker on the touchline.

Players and staff eventually stepped in to diffuse the situation, with the City squad then ushered down the tunnel.

The incident was swiftly resolved after breaking out and it is understood the FA won’t be taking any action against either Arsenal or City.

The flashpoint occurred when England defender Walker was heading to the tunnel and he exchanged words with Jover, who used to work at City as their set-piece coach before joining Arsenal in 2021.

Striker Erling Haaland then came over to join Walker, before staff and players from both sides came together and tempers flared. An animated Jover was eventually led away by Bukayo Saka.

A smiling Guardiola said when asked about the incident: “I know what happened but I won’t say anything.

“They [Arsenal] know it.”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta did not comment on the spat, telling reporters: “I haven’t seen it.”
