Arsenal transfer target confirms he isn't leaving in January window amid summer claim

Arsenal have had a hectic January transfer window so far. The Gunners missed out on primary target Mykhailo Mudryk, who eventually signed for Premier League rivals Chelsea instead.

However, technical director Edu acted quickly to bring in a different winger in the form of Leandro Trossard from Brighton. The north Londoners then swiftly brought in another player to bolster Mikel Arteta's squad, signing Polish centre-back Jakub Kiwior from Serie A outfit Spezia to give Gabriel Magalhaes some competition as a left-sided centre-back.

Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo has also been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium during the winter window and football.london understands that Arsenal had a £60 million bid for the Ecuadorian rejected on Friday morning. It remains to be seen whether or not they can prise Caicedo away from the Amex Stadium in the next 48 hours but one player who is unlikely to join Arteta's side this month is Real Valladolid fullback Ivan Fresneda.

Fresneda had been mooted as a potential target for the Gunners and football.london understands there was a genuine interest in the Spaniard, although transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Fresneda won't be leaving Valladolid before Tuesday night's deadline. Taking to Twitter, Romano said: "Understand Iván Fresneda will stay at Valladolid in January unless there are twists in the final hours.

"Arsenal & Borussia Dortmund wanted Spanish talented RB but deal was never done, Fresneda is now expected to stay and help Valladolid. Next step: top club move in the summer."

Fresneda was also captured reassuring Valladolid fans that he would not be leaving over the weekend. After stopping to sign some shirts for some Valladolid supporters, the 18-year-old said, as per The Metro: "No, I’m not leaving, calm down."
