The transfer rumour mill is continuing to spin at pace despite the fact the January transfer window will not reopen for another three months.
After a busy summer transfer window saw Arsenal add Piero Hincapie, Ilian Meslier, Christos Tzolis, Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa, they are expected to continue strengthening in the winter window.
A high-profile forward remains high on the shopping list, and, luckily for Arsenal, there may well be one on the market very soon.

Arsenal ‘make Haaland contact’
Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Erling Haaland’s representatives over a sensational move for the Manchester City striker.
Football Insider have made the audacious claim that the Gunners, along with Real Madrid, are prepared to take advantage of the Norwegian’s uncertain future, which has been cast into doubt following the news of City’s financial charges.
Haaland remains under contract until 2034, but his deal is not said to contain a relegation clause. If City are hit with an enforced relegation or a large enough points deduction, he could be available at a cut rate.
Gunners ‘offered Dani Olmo’
Barcelona’s Dani Olmo has been offered to Arsenal by intermediaries, per reports from TeamTalk.
The forward has already racked up three assists in seven La Liga appearances this season, but appears to be looking for a new home in January.
He has been tipped as a replacement for Eberechi Eze, though up to six other Premier League rivals have reportedly had the same sales pitch.
Calafiori replacement scouted
Arsenal have sent scouts to keep an eye on Porto’s Alberto Costa, per reports from Caught Offside.
They join a number of clubs, including Manchester United, in scouting the 22-year-old, signed from Juventus for €15m (£12.8m) last year. His contract contains a €65m (£55.7m) release clause.
Arsenal’s interest, though, is at a very nascent stage, which has not progressed beyond scouting. Meanwhile, the player, tipped as a replacement for Riccardo Calafiori, is playing regularly for Porto.
