Arsenal transfer round-up: Mourinho stance on Abraham move as Bellerin preference emerges

After narrowly missing out on Champions League football last season, Arsenal may feel they need reinforcements to go one better next term.

Fabio Vieira's arrival from Porto is a statement of intent from Mikel Arteta's side, while Marquinhos' arrival from Sao Paulo is the kind of deal which will excite those with an eye on the longer-term future. Plenty more could follow, too, though there have also been high-profile departures including Alexandre Lacazette's return to former club Lyon.

Plenty of names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, including Manchester City duo Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus and Roma hotshot Tammy Abraham. The Gunners are likely to need to make some sales as well, though, as they prepare to start next season strongly.

Here, Mirror Football looks at some of the latest Arsenal gossip as a busy summer continues...

Mourinho's stance on Abraham links

Roma manager Jose Mourinho considers Tammy Abraham unsellable, despite Premier League interest. Arsenal and Manchester United have both been linked with the England striker, who only moved to Italy last summer after coming through the ranks at Chelsea.

“I love this club,” Abraham told DAZN towards the end of last season. "They’ve given me the opportunity to show myself, my heart is here. We’ll see what the future holds, but my heart is here.”

Abraham top-scored for the Giallorossi last season, meaning the Premier League interest does not come as a surprise. However, given Mourinho's stance, it may be tough for Arsenal or any other potential suitor to get their way.

Bellerin not keen on Serie A switch

Hector Bellerin still has his heart set on a move to Real Betis despite interest from Serie A. The Spanish international spent last season on loan with Manuel Pellegrini's side, helping them come close to a top-four finish in La Liga.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Betis are unable to stump up the £10m Arsenal want for the 27-year-old. However, Bellerin is in the final year of his contract and is reportedly prepared to tear up his current deal to make sure of a move to Seville.

The same report claims Roma and Fiorentina might be able to meet Arsenal's asking price for the defender, who made his Gunners debut at the age of 18. The former Barcelona academy starlet remains set on Betis, though, after playing 32 times on loan last term.

Arsenal could return for De Tomas

Arsenal could be back in the market for Raul de Tomas after falling short in their pursuit of the Spaniard in January. The Espanyol man was one of a number of mid-season targets, along with the likes of Alexander Isak and Dusan Vlahovic, but the interest might not have gone away completely.

According to SuperDeporte, Espanyol's asking price has dropped to just €25m (£21.7m). This could be enough for Mikel Arteta's side to come back in for the 27-year-old.

De Tomas scored 17 goals for Espanyol last season as they kept their place in La Liga after winning promotion. However, just five of those came after the January transfer window shut.
