Arsenal transfer deadline day rumours: Tielemans bid; Mudryk talks update; Danilo’s mega price tag

Arsenal are set to be active buyers and sellers on transfer deadline day.

Mikel Arteta is looking for a creative midfielder having been linked with Youri Tielemans for the entire summer.

New names such as Danilo and Julian Weigl have emerged in recent days as the clock ticks down.

The deadline is set for 11pm BST on Thursday, September 1.

Here is your latest update of Arsenal transfer rumours ahead of deadline day...

An unnamed club has bid £19million for Youri Tielemans according to Football Insider with Arsenal and Liverpool both keen on the Belgian. The Gunners were happy to pay £23m earlier in the summer (Ben Jacobs) but didn’t launch an official bid. Sky Sports say Leicester’s price tag stands at £25m.

After reports in Brazil that Palmeiras midfielder Danilo was on Arsenal’s radar, Standard Sport reported today that any hopes have been knocked back by demands to pay his £86m release clause.

Mykhaylo Mudryk is worth £50m to Shakhtar Donetsk having emerged as a target in recent weeks (TuttoJuve). Arsenal have not bid for the winger after initial contact with the Ukrainian club, according to Fabrizio Romano. In time honoured transfer window nonsense, he has ‘liked’ a pro-Gunners social media post...

After Crystal Palace’s draw with Brentford last night, Wilfried Zaha shut down rumours of a deadline day exit. “I have been focused on the Palace and I go out there and enjoy it,” he said. Palace boss Patrick Vieira added: “I’m working with him every day and there is no doubt, there is nothing crossing my mind that something like that will happen.”

Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has caught the eye of Arsenal, as well as Tottenham, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, say the Mail. Villa want to sign the Brazilian up to a new contract with his deal expiring in a year’s time.

Bruno Lage has insisted that nobody has bid for Pedro Neto after reports of Arsenal’s interest. “I have heard that but nothing has come to us,” he said on Tuesday night. O Jogo reported earlier this month that a £50m valuation had put off the Gunners.

Another winger not heading to Arsenal is Marco Asensio, who El Chiringuito claim is staying at Real Madrid.

The Express reckon Arsenal could hijack Julian Weigl’s move to Borussia Monchengladbach, which Record say is set to be completed with a loan deal featuring a £13m purchase clause.

A late move for Idrissa Gueye was shot down as the midfielder had already agreed to join Everton, as reported by L’Equipe.

Likewise, the club were reportedly rebuffed in a bid for fellow Paris Saint-Germain man Leandro Paredes as he had given his word to sign for Juventus (Gianluca Di Marzio).
