The rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester United is an iconic Premier League fixture that peaked in the late 90s and early 00s. The two clubs since have fallen away, United were able to keep their title-challenging up for longer but Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure quickly ended that.
Arsenal are now on the rise and the Gunners’ aims are to finish in the top four. At present, having played a game less, Arsenal are four points clear of their old foes. Should they qualify for the Champions League, it could be the catalyst to significantly widen the gap between the two teams.
The transfer business will be key, however, should the Gunners be able to poach one of United’s top talents, unsettled in Manchester, perhaps they could not only strengthen themselves but weaken their old nemesis.
