Arsenal have been told to sign Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin this summer as the Gunners continue their transfer business. Mikel Arteta has already made a number of additions so far in the window.
Four players have arrived, with roughly £80million spent, trying to push the side towards a top four finish after narrowly missing out last campaign. While Gabriel Jesus has come in to help solve the striker conundrum, question marks still hang over the rest of the squad in terms of quality and depth.
Some signings have already addressed a few issues, but more can still be done. Notably both the defence and the midfield need looking at, while it appears as though Arteta is keen to add another forward.

That had been Leeds United’s Raphinha, as football.london understands an offer was made for the Brazilian, but it was eventually turned down. Chelsea and Barcelona have since been embroiled in a battle for his signature, with deals agreed while the Gunners sat in the background.
It means Arteta could look elsewhere to bolster his forward lines, with a number of options linked. However, former defender Bacary Sagna believes they should make a move for Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin.
He told Lord Ping : “The one player I really like, but I’m not sure Arsenal could sign him because he would want to play every game, is Allan Saint-Maximin. I really like this player a lot. I love the way he plays - with so many tricks and skills - he is a nightmare for any defender.”
The Frenchman was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham this summer, though it remains to be seen whether that is still the case after they managed to land Richarlison from Everton in a deal worth around £60million.
Sagna added: “I would love to see him play for Arsenal because it is a joy to watch him play and I think he would provide a spark and something different in the squad. He is a player that can electrify a match, a stadium and make the difference. I would love to see him wearing an Arsenal shirt.”
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners would want to make the deal or not, although he could be a different option going into next season as the Gunners go again in their bid to secure a top-four Premier League finish and with it a return to Champions League football.
