Arsenal told how much it will cost to complete fourth summer transfer following agent switch

Arsenal have been one of the busiest Premier League sides during the first few weeks of the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta's side announced the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea last month, completing a £65 million deal to sign the talented playmaker. The Gunners also agreed a £105m move for West Ham United captain Declan Rice, as well as a £38.5m transfer for Ajax's Jurrien Timber.

These two moves are all but done, with official announcements expected sometime this week. But that hasn't stopped the north Londoners from being linked with additional moves.

Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has been mooted as a potential target and football.london understands that Arsenal do hold an active interest in the Dutch international. Any deal will be difficult to complete, with the talented wingback attracting plenty of attention from numerous clubs in England and on the continent.

Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that any move for the 22-year-old will cost at least £35 million and the player is keen on a move to the Premier League. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “He has new agents now, or better to say that his original agents parted with new agents, so this is what was going on.

“From what I’m hearing, this is an expensive player this summer because I’m told that Bayer Leverkusen could start negotiations only from £35m. There was a big opportunity in January as they were happy with £20m-£25m, now it’s around £35m, so it’s way more expensive.

“I think this is difficult but [Jeremie] Frimpong is prepared to make his move and the priority of Frimpong is to go to the Premier League. So, let’s see if some clubs will put the money on the table, but at the moment not, but let’s see.”
