Why Arsenal are wearing a different kit at PSV with bespoke white shorts designed by adidas

Arsenal will tonight don a bespoke kit designed especially for their Europa League clash with PSV.

A kit clash was a threat for the game in the Netherlands given the home side’s typical red-and-white shirts and black shorts.

The Gunners’ red-and-white home kit is not a viable option, nor is their full black away set or pink-and-black third kit.

Therefore, manfuacturers adidas have helped reach a potential compromise by designing bespoke white shorts to be worn on the night, paired with Arsenal’s black away shirt and socks.

It was initially planned for the Gunners to wear grey shorts but a final decision was made to wear a unique white design with black trim in Eindhoven.

Uefa are responsible for the final approval on such matters.

Arsenal can secure top spot in Europa League Group A by avoiding defeat in the Netherlands.

With a perfect record in Europe after their opening four matches, the Gunners are also out to bounce back from a domestic draw at Southampton on the weekend.
