Arsenal to confirm two new signings after medicals with third transfer imminent

Arsenal are set to announce two signings this week, with a third new arrival potentially not far behind.

The Gunners have secured the services of Manchester United teenager Habeeb Ogunneye, while a move for long-term target Igor Tyjon is also set to be made official.

A full agreement has been reached between Arsenal and United for Ogunneye, who was at the club's training ground last Thursday to undergo a medical.

The 20-year-old right-back will sign for the Gunners on a free transfer that includes a 40 per cent sell-on clause.

While he will primarily be involved with the Under-21s, Ogunneye is also set to get opportunities to train with the first team.

Standard Sport understands that an announcement on that transfer is expected to come in the next 48 hours.

Arsenal are also set to announce the signing of 18-year-old Tyjon in the next couple of days.

He completed a medical last week after a deal was reached with Blackburn for an initial £1million, with a further £2m in potential add-ons.

The striker will further strengthen the U21s but there is also an expectation that he will get some first-team minutes under Mikel Arteta this season.

Tyjon's arrival will end a drawn-out saga, after Arsenal first tried to sign him in January.

Talks are also still ongoing between Arsenal and Manchester United to finalise a deal for James Scanlon.

The 19-year-old is keen on the move and personal terms will not be an issue, but an agreement between the clubs has not yet been reached.

That is understood to be close, though, and it is hoped that the transfer will be concluded by the end of the week.

Attacking midfielder Scanlon, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Swindon, has already been capped 24 times at senior international level by Gibraltar.
