Arsenal target Lautaro Martinez favours Man City switch and other transfer rumours

Arsenal target Lautaro Martinez would favour a move to Manchester City or Liverpool during the summer transfer window, according to reports. The 24-year-old is under contract with Serie A title challengers Inter Milan until 2026, but continues to draw interest from across Europe.

In the market for a recognised striker, top-four hopefuls Arsenal are reported to have set their sights on Martinez. However, with clubs preparing to do business, yet again, the 37-cap Argentina international is understood to want to hold out for other offers.

Italian publication Calciomercato suggests Martinez is not keen on signing for Arsenal. Indeed, the report claims the player wants to make City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich or Spanish giants - Barcelona and Real Madrid - his next switch after scoring 19 goals in all competitions for Inter this season.

Elsewhere, a report from The Times suggests David Moyes wants to bring City defender Nathan Ake to West Ham next season. Ake has enjoyed some game-time in recent weeks but, generally, he plays second fiddle to Ruben Dias, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte.

The 27-year-old touched down at the Etihad Stadium for £40million from Bournemouth in 2020. Since then, the 25-cap Netherlands international has made 36 appearances for City in all competitions.

Chasing a top-four finish and Europa League glory this season, West Ham continue to deal without three long-term injuries in the defensive ranks - namely Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma and Issa Diop - and want to strengthen in that area during the upcoming transfer window.

Ake was linked to the Hammers in January when Eurosport suggested that he was keen on a switch.
