AS Roma are unlikely to sign Arsenal loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles permanently this summer, according to recent reports.
The England international thrived during the early months of Mikel Arteta's tenure as Gunners boss before falling down the pecking order after admitting of his desire to play in midfield. The Spaniard then allowed him to leave on loan during the January transfer window, with Maitland-Niles opting to head for Serie A outfit Roma.
However, he hasn't made the impact he planned for Jose Mourinho's side, featuring less than 400 minutes in the Italian top-flight, with the Giallorossi unlikely to bring him to the Stadio Olimpico on a permanent basis this summer, according to The Mirror. Their report claims that the 24-year-old is likely to come back to English football at the end of the current campaign.
