Arsenal have made a third offer for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez if recent reports are to be believed.
The north London outfit have wasted no time in the summer transfer window, bringing in three players in the form of American goalkeeper Matt Turner, young Brazilian winger Marquinhos and Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira. Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus is also set to be announced as the club's next signing in the coming days.
Now, The Sun have reported that the Gunners have 'improved the financial terms of their second bid of £34million' for Argentine defender Martinez. They reportedly had an opening offer of £26million rejected by Ajax, who are said to value the 24-year-old at around £43million.

Manchester United have also been mooted as a potential destination in recent times given their new manager Erik ten Hag worked with the versatile defender during his time with the Dutch giants. Martinez can play centre-back, left-back and even holding midfield and Ten Hag has made it no secret of his admiration for the player in the past.
“I find Lisandro Martinez an excellent player, he is actually starting material and this is why I talk with him a lot," the Dutchman said last year. Former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars is also an admirer of the player, praising his ball-playing ability.
“Martinez is a left-footed player who can play several positions in the back,” said Overmars. “He is a defender who likes to play football forward.”
