Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has admitted he is a huge fan of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the past and most recently Italian news outlet TMW reported back in December 2022 that the north Londoners want to sign the Nigerian international during this summer's transfer window. The talented centre-forward was brought in from Ligue 1 side Lille back in the summer of 2019 and Gunners star Jorginho has now admitted that he told Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli to bring him to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium at the time.
Speaking to DAZN, via Football Italia, the Italian international said: “I knew Osimhen. I had played against him in (the) Champions League and he had given a hard time to our defenders.

“Giuntoli called me before signing him and I told him to sign him straight away, he is very promising and is doing really well.” Osimhen has previously revealed that Arsenal wanted to sign him in 2015 before he eventually chose to join German outfit Wolfsburg instead.
Speaking to the Independent back in 2020, he said: “I spoke with Arsene Wenger after the tournament (Under-17 World Cup) ended and he wanted me to come to Arsenal. I had a lot of options. Barcelona; Inter Milan; Atletico Madrid; Juventus and the rest.
"Arsenal was a good option but it wasn’t the best at the time. I wanted to start playing as soon as I turned 18. I wanted to go to a place where I had time to invest in my game and improve physically.
"Wolfsburg showed me that possibility. Of course, one day I’d like to play for a big club in England... my priority is to play a lot of games.
"Signing for a big club and being on the bench is not exciting for me."
