Arsenal star Gabriel aims brutal dig at 'critics' after beating Tottenham in dominant fashion

Arsenal star defender Gabriel Magalhaes has taken aim at his critics with a pointed message on social media after his side's victory over Tottenham in the North London Derby. Goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka earned all three points for the Gunners.

While they made it looked comfortable at the end, it was far from that at times, with Gabriel at fault for giving away a penalty with a challenge on Richarlison. Harry Kane drew Spurs level in the first half, though the goal meant little come the final whistle.

"You’re gonna have those [difficult] moments against Spurs and all the big teams," Mikel Arteta said when reflecting on the win. "You have the feeling every time they connect with those front three every time and you have to live with that.

"But I don’t think that we played at all with that in the back of our heads. You could feel in the players from the beginning the courage, the freedom and the energy to go for it. This is what we demand them to do."

That courage was visible with someone such as Gabriel, who managed to put the mistake behind him and continued to play as his manager would have liked him to. Taking to social media after the game, the Brazilian sent a message of thanks to the supporters while hitting out at those who have been critical of him.

"Bye to the critics and a big hug to those who really know how to cheer! NORTH LONDON IS RED," His tweet read when roughly translated from Portuguese. That dig at his "critics" comes after another incident on the social media platform that caused him to hit out.

"Learn to cheer," He told one Arsenal supporter back in August. "No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes! And another one doesn't have any *** here. Learn to respect anyone."
