Arsenal are set to reignite their interest in Bayer Leverkusen attacker Moussa Diaby this summer. The Frenchman was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium last year but the Gunners failed to agree a deal with Leverkusen.
Diaby could be available for around £50million this summer according to reports, and would be the kind of versatile addition that would fit the bill of Mikel Arteta's demands up top. The Arsenal boss wants to bolster his attack by signing a quality forward to compete with Bukayo Saka.
According to the Evening Standard, the Gunners are preparing to face competition from PSG - who previously had Diaby in their ranks until 2019. Newcastle are also monitoring the Frenchman's situation at Leverkusen with the summer transfer window set to open across Europe on July 1.
Saka and Gabriel Martinelli both extended their contracts ahead of the 2023/24 campaign - whilst Leandro Trossard signed for the Gunners in the January transfer window. Reiss Nelson is currently in talks to extend his current deal, but the drop in quality when Saka is out of the team is an issue for Arsenal.
According to RMC Sport, the north Londoners are looking to reignite their interest in Diaby. The 23-year-old's contract is set to expire in 2025 meaning Leverkusen are in a position to demand a significant fee for their star attacker.
Diaby scored nine goals and provided a further nine assists in 33 appearances last term and has shown the type of quality performances that could see him thrive in the Premier League. The Gunners are currently prioritising a move for West Ham captain Declan Rice, whilst Chelsea's Kai Havertz could also be an option for Arteta this summer.

The Arsenal boss wants to strengthen his squad across all areas of the pitch as he looks to build on a promising 2022/23 campaign. If the Gunners are to close the gap to Manchester City, Diaby could be the perfect signing to help Arsenal compete on all fronts next term.
