Arsenal's next four fixtures compared to Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City and Newcastle

Arsenal suffered an early exit from the Carabao Cup following a 3-1 defeat to Brighton. Former Gunners striker Danny Welbeck booked the Seagulls a place in the fourth round with a 3-1 win over Mikel Arteta's side at the Emirates Stadium.

Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring in the first-half with a well taken effort before Welbeck equalised from 12-yards after he was brought down by Karl Hein. Against the run of play, Kaoru Mitoma put Brighton ahead in the second-half and left the north Londoners chasing a goal with half an hour to play.

Then, Tariq Lampty put the final nail in the coffin later in the half after slotting the ball through Hein's legs. While Arsenal may not have been at their strongest, Brighton stunted the Gunners' form as Arteta looks to defend his side's place at the top of the Premier League heading into the World Cup.

Arsenal have just one game until the squad disperses ahead of the World Cup later this month. So, with that being said, football.london has compared the north Londoners' next four games with their rivals.

Wolves (A) - November 12

Arsenal and Wolves have had somewhat of a rivalry in the last year, with two of the last three meetings seeing Arteta's side receive a red card. The Gunners did the double over the Midlands outfit last season, winning 1-0 at Molineux despite Martinelli's sending-off and coming from behind to win 2-1 late on at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal will hope to head into the World Cup break with a win in what is expected to be a fiery affair against Wolves.

West Ham (H) - December 26

The Gunners' first game back from the break sees them host David Moyes' West Ham. The Hammers have struggled this season and have failed to replicate the form that has saw them finish sixth and seventh respectively.

Arsenal have enjoyed plenty of success over their London rivals in recent years with their last defeat coming in January 2019. However, you'd have to go back to August 2015 for the last time the Hammers won at the Emirates Stadium.

Brighton (A) - December 31

Despite the World Cup break, the fixtures come thick and fast for Arteta's side and they face a 58-mile trip to the Amex Stadium on New Year's Eve.

The fixture could see Arsenal ensure they go into the new year at the top of the table for the first time since 2016. Brighton have provided many banana skins for the Gunners in recent years, with only three league wins coming their way in the 10 meetings.

Newcastle (H) - January 3

What a way to kickstart the New Year with a clash against the highly-flying Magpies. Newcastle have been in great form this season and this tie could have a huge say on the outcome on the race for top-four.
