Arsenal's Next Five Fixtures Compared To Premier League Rivals

Arsenal’s next five fixtures give them a great opportunity to close the gap to Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners maintained their strong recent form with an impressive 2-0 win over Manchester United on Wednesday.

Jurrien Timber and William Saliba both scored from set-pieces as Mikel Arteta’s side showed their clinical edge.

After a dominant first-half performance, United’s defence stood firm. But Arsenal took the lead when Timber directed Declan Rice’s in-swinging ball home in the 54th minute.

Saliba then doubled the lead from another corner to seal three points for the home side.

With league leaders Liverpool dropping points at Newcastle, the chasing pack of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have closed the gap slightly.

As the season enters a busy and vital festive period, we’ve taken a look at Arsenal’s next five fixtures to see how they compare with their top-four and title rivals.

Arsenal’s Next Five Fixtures In The Premier League

  • Dec 8 – Fulham (A) – 2pm
  • Dec 14 – Everton (H) – 3pm
  • Dec 21 – Crystal Palace (A) – 5.30pm
  • Dec 27 – Ipswich Town (H) – 8.15pm
  • Jan 1 – Brentford (A) – 5:30pm

Arsenal’s next five fixtures see them play no side higher than ninth in the table. This gives Mikel Arteta’s men a great chance to pick up five wins and pile the pressure on Liverpool.

First up, they travel across London to face Fulham at Craven Cottage before hosting Everton on 14 December. They then visit Crystal Palace on 21 December, with Ipswich Town visiting the Emirates on 27 December.

Then, Arsenal start the new year with a third London away trip in a row when they make the short journey to Brentford on New Year’s Day.

As well as Premier League action, the Gunners also need to navigate a Champions League tie with AS Monaco and a Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace.

Like Liverpool, Chelsea also have a daunting away day at Tottenham coming up. They then host Brentford and Fulham either side of travelling up to Everton on 22 December.
