Arsenal’s full squad for West Ham clash revealed as Mikel Arteta provides Bukayo Saka update

Arsenal take on West Ham United today at the Olympic Stadium in the hope of making it three successive wins in the Premier League.

The Gunners have managed to respond to their three defeats against Crystal Palace, Brighton and Southampton in emphatic style, defeating both Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and Manchester United at the Emirates stadium in the space of four days.

Certainly, it's been been a much-needed response as manager Mikel Arteta was under significant pressure by the Arsenal fanbase, with many frustrated with certain decisions such as deciding to play Granit Xhaka at left-back against Brighton.

But it appears that the Spaniard has reverted back to basics and the fundamentals utilised primarily in his rein, which involves having the left-back high and wide with a double pivot in place.

Nuno Tavares being given the freedom to operate in the final third has given him the platform to flourish, with the Portuguese defender scoring his first goal for the club against Manchester United last Saturday. Meanwhile, both Xhaka and Mohammed Elneny have formed a brilliant partnership in the engine room recently, offering ball circulation during the first and second phases of play along with defensive stability.

It's expected that the former Manchester City assistant manager will maintain the same dynamics for this afternoon's game and rightfully so as the overall team functionality is far smoother. Regarding team news, there appeared to be concerns over Bukayo Saka who came of injured last time out, but Arteta stated that 'he's recovered well' and should be available for the high octane London clash.

Meanwhile, Takherio Tomiyasu made his first appearance last weekend after a lengthy spell out on the sidelines with a calf injury and there is the expectation that he could well start in place of Cedric Soares. With all of that being said, take a look at the full squad Arteta has at his disposal.

Goalkeepers: Aaron Ramsdale, Bernd Leno, Arthur Okonkwo

Defenders: Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Rob Holding, Nuno Tavares, Cedric Soares, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Mazeed Ogungbo, Zak Swanson,

Midfielders: Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Miguel Azeez, Omari Hutchinson

Forwards: Bukayo Saka, Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Martinelli, Nicolas Pepe, Eddie Nketiah
