Arsenal could look to make the most out of the January transfer window to bolster their squad for the rest of the Premier League season. With the side sitting top of the division, there may be no better time to reinforce the side and have a shot at winning the title altogether.
There are questions over the depth available to Mikel Arteta as well as some of the quality within the squad too, something that's only been compounded by the injury to star striker Gabriel Jesus. "We are going to be active," the manager responded when asked if a replacement could come in next month. "Active means we are always looking to strengthen the team."
One option touted with replacing Jesus in the next few weeks is Atletico Madrid and Portugal striker Joao Felix, who appears to be available on loan. The forward seems to fit a similar profile to the currently injured Brazilian, potentially offering exactly what the side needs.

However, the Gunners aren't the only team that he has been touted to as a loan option in the window, with Chelsea and Manchester United just two of a handful of sides linked. It means that while things are at a standstill over a loan agreement at this stage, once the window drags on, it could be a tough job landing Felix ahead of other rivals.
Arteta may have one advantage in his favour though, coming through a particularly unlikely source. That's because the Evening Standard report that Atletico are following a deal to sign right-back Cedric Soares in January to bolster their options in the squad.
The Portuguese defender has become something of a third-choice this season, with both Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu often playing ahead of him. Fulham are said to be eyeing a move to table a bid, but any deal with the Spanish giants could give the side leverage in landing Felix.
